"Easily the best car rental experience I've had anywhere around the world. The prices here are fair. You might find a lower price listed at another nearby agency, but it's common for agencies in this area to list prices that don't include the mandatory liability insurance. They tack that on once you go to pay at the office. So what seems cheap in reality isn't. With Cactus the price you see includes the mandatory insurance, so that's what you'll pay. No surprises. They do offer collision insurance as well if the car winds up being in an accident, but they don't push you to get the insurance. They merely provide you with the info and let you make your decision, which is perfect. They give detailed instructions how to get to their lot, including providing info about some of the pitfalls you'll face after walking out of SJD airport past all the touts. They have complementary transportation from the airport to their lot. Super easy. The cars are in good shape overall, but they do a walkthrough with you to point out damage. They pointed out some things I didn't even see, and although I'd still recommend taking a video of the walkthrough like you should always do when renting a car, these guys seem super honest. When I dropped off the car there was no haggling or having to explain myself, they did a walkthrough, said the car looked fine, and took the keys. That was it. It was really refreshing having a car rental company not try to nitpick, or worse, pin prior damage on you. But the best part was the staff. They all spoke good English and were attentive to questions and concerns. They were kind without being overbearing, detailed without being pedantic, firm without being pushy. The responded to messages sent to them on WhatsApp really quickly. I was driving back from La Paz and concerned about traffic so I asked them if there would be a penalty if I was a bit late. They said not to worry, to enjoy the drive, and that as long as they had it back less than two hours after it was due they wouldn't charge me more. I was so thoroughly impressed with them. Taken as a whole, Cactus far exceeded my expectations. If I return to Cabo San Lucas I will 100% use Cactus again, without the slightest hesitation. Do yourself a favor and book with these guys!"
